here's the ad for Monster Energy Drink that was shot during freezing weather.. it was cold like hell and I myself thought of going home couple of times during shooting..

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3T3OKlMxBiM

watch the ad first then read this.....

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

okay...lemme tell you the cons:
1. (0.08) the text 'Generator' written on the large red bin...well, they flipped the scene to keep the continuity..
2. (0.15) color imbalance in the top right corner..
3. the Hoodie (who gave the drink to the lead character) had the cigarette on his hand at (0.09) but cigarette disappeared at (0.11)...(smoking in advertisement isn't good i think)

well, idea was Ini's (the hoodie guy).. so far so good...now, tell me what u think...

I like it....but, I would try to get rid of the cigarette.
Your ad was clear, and to the point. It was shot well.
Curious; Did Monster contact you to do an Ad for them? Or, are you working for an agency? Or, was this just something for fun??

Here is a blurb from their webiste;
Most companies spend their money on ad agencies, TV commercials, radio spots, and billboards to tell you how good their products are. At Monster we choose none of the above. Instead, we support the scene, our bands, our athletes and our fans. We back athletes so they can make a career out of their passion. We promote concert tours, so our favorite bands can visit your home town. We celebrate with our fans and riders by throwing parties and making the coolest events we can think of a reality.

At Monster we are all about the things you care about. What kid dreams about landing a 9 to 5 job? We all dreamed about being pro athletes, musicians and living the life. We know it takes encouragement and support to make that dream a reality, so we created the Monster Army to back the next generation pros, the future Ricky Carmichael, Jeremy McGrath, Dave Mirra, Danny Kass and Rob Dyrdek’s.

Some companies won’t let you have any gear unless you’re on the payroll. We’re all about our fans rockin’ the Monster logo the way they want - on hats, shirts, MX bikes, trucks, gear, or even on themselves. Our idea of a promotion isn’t giving away a TV you already got. Our promos offer exclusive VIP access, insane trips hanging with top musicians, athletes, and real gear like dirt bikes, snowboards, BMX bikes, rims and helmets.

In short, at Monster all our guys walk the walk in action sports, punk rock music, partying, hangin’ with the girls, and living life on the edge. Monster is way more than an energy drink. Led by our athletes, musicians, employees, distributors and fans, Monster is...
A lifestyle in a can.

Your ad needs to be geared more towards the companies Ethos, or beliefs. While you are making a "statement" with your Ad...you are not making the statement that is in keeping with the companies stated branding practices. If your trying to make a Monster Commercial, I suggest going back and looking at their website to get a feel for the company.
Like I said; your camera work, story telling, and post, were very good. But........
And, I'm just trying to help.

If Monster contacted you, and said; "this is what we want....", then you got it. But, if your trying to get work from Monster.....well, I wish you the best.
Stick to sports themes, within their marketing demographics.

thnx guys...

@ jeremiahjw : I myself don't like the cigarette part..

@havasuphoto : didn't I mention that it was a student project? oh, I m sorry man.. we actually had to shot a 30 sec commercial ad for film school..Thanks a lot to point their statement out.. I didn't even think of going to their website..but I will if I work in any student project next time..so that I've a chance to sell the commercials to the specific company :)

Right on. Didn't know it was just a project. What was the goal of the project? Was it to just create a story and film it???
Or, are you more interested in product advertising??
I'm just curious as to what your studying, that's all. You can pixel peep your project to death....but, it looks fine the way it is. You are the one that noticed the mistakes. To be honest; I watched it once. I didn't notice any of the mistakes until I went back to your list of them, via the time line. I still think it worked well...depending on what the goal of the project was.

Good luck to you in school.

to be honest, the goal was to get an 'A' LOL... they said, 'pick a product and make an ad within 30 sec for it'..so, we just did..
we are interested in product advertising. we had no time as we had an advert, a paper, a short film to go..so, u could understand the situation..:-S
umm..there's one more mistake that i forgot to mention..continuity.. (0.16) lead character seems like having his drink while at (0.18) he just starts drinking..

I always try to get the negative aspects of previous works so that I can make the next one better..
thnx dude...
