Advanced timelapses

Hey, so I have been watching a lot of ski and snowboard videos lately and I've noticed that they all have timelapses that pan or zoom. Is this all done in post by zooming in on the image and then digitally panning? Or is there certain automatic panning tripod heads you can get for that? Also is there anyway to set the zoom speed to slow on the hvx and have it zoom in intervals as it is doing the timelapse so you dont loose any quality?

1. Expensive: Motion Control
2. Use a DSLR with e.g. 10 megapixel and pan/scan in your NLE:thumbsup:

yes I agree... the best solution for zooms are in fact shooting very high res and 'pan scanning'
