in layman's terms, what advantages will they offer over MQ tapes and what is likely to be their street price?
 
Funny how this question has been asked NUMEROUS times.....yet there seems to be no real answer.....YET!!

Come on you tech guru's.....cough up the answer already!!

The AMQ Series offers advancements in regard to drop-outs, clogging and still image playback in comparison to previous Panasonic professional DV tape, and it excels over competitive brands in terms of drop-outs, signal output and error rate.



A newly-developed robust lubricant and a durable diamond-like carbon (DLC) film with extra thickness dramatically boosts durability during still image playback. These advanced production technologies allow the AMQ tape to stand up to the repeated rewinding, fast-forwarding and playback typical of professional editing. The new series offers a new surface treatment process (Super Advanced Metal Evaporation or S-AME) for improved magnetic density and an increased output level of +1.2dB, resulting in a more precise and secure recording.



Improvements even extend to the cassette housing, with a new "Cool Gray" color, Dust Proof Anti-Static lid and durable ABS resin shell construction--the same material used for high-quality data tape. An easy-write cassette label is already affixed to the cassette housing, so writing titles directly on the label is quick and easy. Both the large and small tape sizes use a two-way open soft vinyl case that is rugged yet easy to open.

Fa' Get about it!! Too bad our championship team has been dismantled due to the NBA draft...but....can't say that I blame the guys. Gotta go now while their *stock* is high. We'll just have to recruit and rebuild again. :thumbsup:

Duke Blue all the way (even born there). Quite a year UNC had, Glad Roy Williams finally got one. Don't get too used to it as Duke is next year's preseason #1.

But honesty...I don't get into the Duke Vs. UNC arguments too often. I look at it like this:

1. The ACC rules and can't be F*d with.
2. NC rules and can't be F*d with. I mean damn....we have ALL the teams. UNC, STATE, DUKE, WAKE, CHARLOTTE, WILMINGTON. I think it's safe to say we have college basketball on lock down.
 
they do rule college hoops. that we can agree on. but carolina blue, now that color should just be banned from the NCAA.

Piazza dinged 2 homers yesterday & Zambrano got the win against the Brewers, 7-4. Glavine is pitching today. Should be a good one.

Oh yeah I have heard of Chris Webber. He sucks. He's washed up and was always over rated, even when was was good. What about him?

As far as Carolina Blue.....Don't cry because you guys CHOKED!! If you don't like the color, move to Outer Space so you won't have to see it everyday in the sky. :)

So what the hell does this have to do with Advanced MQ tapes?
Glad to know the new tapes are more impervious to dropouts and causing head clogging. Great news!!

it doesn't have anything to do with AMQ tapes. all questions were answered and was trying to make conversation with a fellow north carolinian. where is your sense of southern hospitality, my belligerent little friend?
