Has anyone used one of these? They've been on backorder for at least a month now, and just got back in stock. I've ordered one, and it's on it's way, but I was curious if anyone has tried this yet?

I mean, for $45 I'm not going to be too bummed out if it's a POS, but it has fairly positive reviews, and I just couldn't pass with the price.

Anyway, mostly just wanted to know if anyone has used this, and could speak on their experience.

I have this, it's really well done for the price. Very solid and well built. Comfortable. Would be a better with a handgrip. Also you have to watch for breathing movement. You can account for that if you grip the chest support with your hand. Good, useful accessories.

If you can afford a several hundred dollar rig I'm sure that would be better, but for $45 this is a good product imo.

I ve used it with dvx/hmc and its realy great. In my opinion its much better than other products that cost five times more!
I believe it ll be fine with a dslr too...and Im planing to use it when my 550D arrives...

I will shoot something this weekend, probably(can't guarantee, depends on the weather). Is there anything particular you wanted to see? Bear in mind I'm a newb.

Anyone have any test footage using it?
I also like it. This video was done with this shoulder support and a 5dmII. Only the surf shots were done with a tripod. I also use it with an ex1, and without any extension it works well. Not everybody like it because you need to avoid your breath but for me thats easy.

It's actually pretty good. The way I use it is to hold the chest brace as a handle. Extra stable and you avoid the breathing problems.

Not a very good examply but I used it for this demo here.

Finally got it. Took a trip to New York right after I got it, but decided to make it a photography trip and not video, so I kept the new toy at home. I've tested it a little bit since then, and while I think it will take some getting used to, I've already noticed a huge difference in the jello issue (or lack of it, in the case of this stabilizer). It seems a tad bit uncomfortable, but that could possibly be fixed by rigging up some extra padding. So far, though, it seems to be doing exactly what I was hoping, at a very cheap price. I'll try to post up some test videos soon.

Quite portable. It folds up into a size of about a foot and a half long by maybe 6 inches in width. It could easily fit in a backpack I imagine.

I just purchased this unit from Adorama and played around with it a little (HVX) and it feels pretty good. Much better than Spiderbrace, which slides down the shoulder.

BTW: I checked out this unit and the Smith Victor version at Adorama and they are EXACTLY the same -- only the SV is almost twice the price!
