Adobe -> Resolve 14, hardware and capacity questions

I've got a project coming up in a month or two that seems to be ideal for a pilot project in DaVinci Resolve. That is, it doesn't have any hard and fast deadlines (or a paycheck -- it's volunteer work). So I thought I'd try out the free downloadable of Resolve 14 as a "learning experience" to see if I want to continue and load up Resolve 15 when it comes out of beta.

So I've been trying to do my homework. I found and downloaded the 1346 page (!) User Manual, and the 48 page Configuration Guide, both for 14 (not 15). They tell me all kinds of things about what I might want to buy to run 14 if I were to build a brand new system just for Resolve, but they don't tell me what I need to know about trying to run it on an existing computer. I know, for example, I would buy Win10 if I was building a new box, but will it run on Win8.1 on my existing box? Will it fit in the space I have available on my current SSD system drive? Will it run on my older GeForce GTX 760? I need to answer all those kinds of questions before I try to download it and boot it up, because it's pointless to try to do this on a computer that won't run it, right?

What I'm trying to do here is RTFM. Except that I can't find the FM that answers these "silly newbie questions". Anyone point me toward a good source to read to learn this stuff?

EDIT: What I'm looking for are the actual minimum hardware and software requirements.

Windows 8 is not supported I would recommend Windows 10 (pro).
Also a GTX 760 is not very strong, I would as a minimum recommend a GTX 1070 card.

From Blackmagic's website:
