So I've been using Avid Xpress Pro HD recently and its got an awesome keyboard with it with all the shortcuts and its ace so I'm looking for a really good one for Premier Pro CS3. I found this one and it looks really good just wondering if anyones got any experience of it. I really like the jog wheel it looks very useful.
Heres the link to it

anybody got any thoughts - Im definitely thinking of getting one.

When I was at NAB this year I came across a company called Logic Keyboard. It looks like they have some cool stuff. The sample keyboards they had at the show were nice. They also cost less than the models you listed above.

I have been using the Logic Key board for sometime (and its great) ... but I really like the look of the one in the link.

Kind of dont need them now because I have it all in my head (mostly)

Hi,

My take on most keyboards like this is that you'll actually learn the keys you use fast enough on your on; no amount of visual prompting will really help you that much.

I've bought a few of them for my students, who liked them, but in the end, really didn't cling to them much.

Figure out what's really important and just memorize it - it's likely it isn't much.

thanks for the input - im pretty familiar with most of the them anyway - I was really looking at it for the jog dial feature - I think that would come in handy quite a lot. But i completely take your point, and am having a think about it more now.

Hi,

Or another alternative for jog/shuttle, the Contour Shuttle Pro.

I have a couple of those that I use for other apps that are more jog/shuttle intensive. They are key-assignable, which is pretty nice.

In any case, a lot will depend on how you work and what you want out of it. If you're working for yourself it will be different than if you're working for a company and it's someone else's machine, where they might have a mindset that you should be working exactly like everyone else, a bad management idea I run into as a trainer every so often.

Hey Alexman,

This is what I did to save my self some money. Just get the Adobe Premiere Pro Keyboard stickers for $5.95 link is below (compatible with CS3)

If you use the jog/shuttle, you'll still have to use your keyboard and mouse. At this point its more of a gimick. To really see an improvement in your editing speed you need a keyboard that has an integrated trackball/mouse, joggle, and keyboard. Other then that just buy the 6 bucks stickers and you'll be good to go.

All the best,

Manymoosh
