Adobe mangement of native .mts files...

Furthering the discussion about handling of AF100 mts file in NLEs.

(from a separate thread that was comparing codecs and internal / external record and green screen)

I took a close look at a recent project of mine in the course of doing some frame grabs for another post.

Here are some frame grabs direct from the Premiere Pro CS5.5.x timeline and one from After Effects Comp. ( They have been scaled down for this board of course via AVS Image Converter - png to png)

I am seeing no signs of aliasing or interlacing in either the frame grabs or my monitors. These are the camera source files without CC or grade BTW

It's a mystery to me. My normal footage looks great, both in Pr and Ae, but the moment I tried keying the other shooter's MTS, the aliasing was horrendous. I'll have to shoot some of my own to see, but with so many people successfully keying over the past year, I don't get why that footage looks so bad.

Rick,

Are you using CS5.5 or 5? I'm using CS5. Perhaps it was fixed in .5?

[edit] - never mind. You said you see the problem with other people's material.

Its a good thing I wasn't hired as a grip because I would've eaten all the props. Nice lighting as well.

Definitely this! You wouldn't believe me if I told you...

I remember doing a commercial years ago where the food stylist used motor oil to make a turkey look golden brown. There were also buckets under the table for the actors to spit the real food into between the takes.

Failed to keep the faith or heed my advice ...You will not work in this industry again!

FWIW. The grabs I presented were of food that I would have been prepared to eat myself. Seriously.
