GH2 Adobe Encore - Blu-ray Transcoding

Anyone have any recommended settings for medium and high quality BD authoring? My footage is generally wedding blu-rays which are about 1hr.20min-1hr.40min.

Is it true that the higher the bitrate the lesser the footage is compressed and therefore faster transcode times?

Yes it's true. The higher bitrate, the less the footage is compressed.
Wrong, if it's well compressed, Encore shouldn't need to recompress your footage. Be sure to meet the bitrate restrictions though.

If your footage has been well compressed (via any software), Encore won't need to re-compress the footage in order to make it compliant.
What I usually do (as Encore MainConcept encoder isn't the best) I use MeGui (which works with Avisynth scripts) to compress the footage out of the NLE via FrameServing. That's the best method I've found so far.

How do you define "best method"?
Because I've tried other methods than "straight" from Premiere. I've tried rendering an uncompressed video, then compressing it via an external software (MeGui). Then I've tried FrameServing, which saves you from rendering the uncompressed video, and compress it directly from Premiere to MeGui let's say.
Honestly, MeGui features one of the best encoding software that I've tested, uses free codecs and simply requires you to understand how Avisynth scripts works. I can help if you're interested.

I could definitely use your help. Avisynth has always been so abstract to me. Can't seem to find any good tuts on working with avisynth and adobe. If you have any good resources that'd be great. Thanks.

Adobe Media Encoder can also do some of the codec conversion and/or compression in the background while you are still working in Premiere.

You can open a Premiere Sequence in Media Encoder, then have it render that Sequence with multiple output formats. You set up all of the outputs you need, then start the Queue.

If you're process isn't compltely linear - you can still do other work while waiting for output - that might speed up your workflow.

Let us know what works best.
