Adobe CC will credit your account for 90 days due to COVID19.

Didn't work for me. I get an automated response that says:

"I'm still learning. Could you describe the issue differently or tell me your goal?"

Matt, was that an April Fools joke I totally missed?

Not an April fools joke. It works. Maybe there wasn't an available agent to chat with when you did it, so you an AI chat bot, but I would try again until you get to a real person. Again, not a joke.

No worries. It did work out for me. As Carlos points out, it's not an automated thing and it took a while for me to get through the chatbot to a real person.

Once a real person got on, they were responsive and helpful.

Thanks Matt and everyone for the heads up on this!

Keep typing it in to the response box. A real person will eventually get to you.

I do not joke on things like this.

Best,

As much as I dislike and don’t use Adobe because of the heavy prices attached to their annual subscription, I must really applaud their management for appreciating the current chaos that has engulfed us all.

Thank you Adobe.

Be well.

Good grief. I asked Adobe about this last week. I got zero response. I moaned at Adobe on Twitter. Got a reaction, but nothing constructive so switched off my CC account and re-signed to the cheaper Premiere only account. Can I type FFS. Loudly.

Liam, might be a good time to try Resolve, especially if you have time on your hands, sadly like I have. I left Adobe a couple of years ago and have not once regretted it.

Yes, definitely worth considering. I'm also looking at buying Affinity Pro to replace Photoshop. Need something to replace Lightroom too, and After Effects...

In the UK a few colleagues have used the cancel system, said it's too expensive and they got a furlough - I tried but I get hit with a £76 cancellation fee, so I'll just carry on. Never mind. Probably because I took out one of those special offer deals a couple of years back, but mystified why there's an early termination charge - when I've been with them a long time?

I changed to Affinity at the same time I left Photoshop. Once i got over the differences I found it just as comprehensive. Resolve is a steep learning curve but there are plenty of good free tutorials around, not least by BM themselves. The secret is to forget how you do things in other apps. Good luck!

I've used Resolve a lot for grading, so I'm not entirely new to their ecosystem. My issue will be integrating with clients.

I'm afraid I would never go back to Serif after they discontinued all the software I used every day when I'd been with them for years and years - their business model changed and that was that!

I had used the two month furlough posted about here shortly back (went through the cancellation process, got the 2 months special offer, was accepted). Then I went to use this offer as well. Agent said: "To support our customers during this difficult time, we would be happy to pause your billing for 3 months... Give me a moment while I add the free months... We have added the free months and the next billing date is 22 Aug 2020."

So... 5 months free! Woo!

Thank you for sharing this.

Nice to hear about this extra time. I was just thinking last week that many people on CC would be hurting when they let their monthly payment go and lost access to all their projects.

Yes, definitely worth considering.

Given how many issues folks have with Adobe and its customer service, it seems silly not to use the free time to learn Resolve...

I'm also looking at buying Affinity Pro to replace Photoshop.

I've done that as well, and since I've had some time to edit some photos, started using Affinity Photo a bit more lately. I did a small amount of design work with Affinity Designer as well (I'm not very good at that part) and I'm pretty pleased with that as well. I haven't tried the Publisher tool yet.

Need something to replace Lightroom too,

I'm using On1 now. ACDSee and AlienWare's Exposure have pretty nice asset management functionality also, though I'm not all that pleased with the editing side of either one. And there's always Capture One.

and After Effects...

Fusion, HitFilm...
