Hello - I am in Thailand on a shoot and I am experiencing some severe flickering when shooting in places where there are florescent lights and no other light available to shoot with. Do you know is this is a result of a different electrical system in Thailand? Can the DVX be adjusted to mitigate some of this horrible effect. Any suggestions, tips, advice will be very helpful. Thanks.:dankk2: </IMG>

If you go into the camera setup, you have the option to change the syncro scan. This can be set by 100ths of a second intervals, ie 72.1, 72.2, 72.3. All you need to do is sync up the shutter speed to your light frequency, most likely somewhere areound 60HZ or 1/60th of a second. it could be 1/60.3 or 1/59.7, you just have to move it around until the flickering goes away. Oh, and dont forget to select the synchro scan shutter speed as your shutter speed, other wise you won't see it change as you adjust it.

haha, at first I thought you were asking how to get terrible flicker! For that, I'd crank the shutter up high.

Don't forget to use minus-green (or magenta) gel, so your shots don't all come out green (even if the flicker is removed).
