Adjust iris in CINE mode (scene) please explain?

Hi,

I'm doing photo on a doc and haven't really used the HMC150. I just got into picture styles - wanting such a flat picture as possible as color correction and grading will be done in post. I read up on it, but I am uncertain about this:

"Panasonic recommends adjusting the iris to
reduce the video level to approximately 1/2 of normal level" <--------------- CINE-V

What does this mean? Normal level=correct exposure? I am confused. I really don't have the time to mess around a lot with the camera. Can some kind soul straighten this out for me in simple language?

They mean a half stop or what? One stop? Am I supposed to underexpose slightly?

Really appreciate some input. Also we will film under dark conditions as well as very bright snow lit conditions. Any thoughts on this ye olde forum? Any special scene settings?

Thanks a bunch!

/Emil
