Adidas Specs shot on 5d "Impossible is Nothing"

These are great. Nice and short. Mary's voice seems a little out of sync though.

Keep up the good work. I'd love to see more.

Love the clean, black and white look. How was it lit?
What's your workflow and post processing for the piece?
During the dance sequence, did you ratchet up the shutter speed?
Great work - short and sweet.

These are really nice. One thing I think you can lose in the future is having them say the name of the shoe. Just show it in a shot of like the woman dancing, or the guy's foot on the pedal, etc. I think a lot of ads have been moving this way for a while now.

Also, I wanted a LOT more dancing from her.

The look is really fantastic. Great great work.

my opinion.. which is worth absolutely nothing, as its just my opinion...

Keep the music going in the sound bed under her bites, just pull it down, but keep it there.

instead of the mooded looks as cutaways out her bites, use the footage of her dancing, because its really beautiful, and its much more engaging. Maybe still use the portrait looks, but only a very scant few and only for the least amount possible... its not that they dont work, but a little of them goes a long way. I say if you reverse the percentage of portrait to dancing you've got the right mix..

Otherwise, its really very nicely done, lighting , editing ... it all looks very legit and polished.

Good luck!

Having just posted as Marks' post arrived, I'll edit this and agree that somehow incorporating the shoe into this narrative earlier is a really good idea, and I don't think doing so will take away from the spot stylistically or otherwise.

All the best,

W

For the midshot of the dance sequence, I cranked up the shutter to 1/125 .. not sure if that is the correct number but its around there.

I imported the .mov clip to mpeg streamclip and converted it to ProRes, and then edited it final cut pro.

It was lit by a 4 bank kino flo and 2 bank kino flo. the 4 bank was for the key, and the 2 bank was aim at the backwall to give it a white cyc look.
