Adhesive from 3-Year Warranty sticker on LCD?

Okay, here's a weird question. The metallic "3 Year Warranty Register Now!" sticker on the bottom of the LCD came apart as I peeled it off. I tried both sides with the same result- I have a foil sticker with about 10% of the adhesive on it, and the LCD frame has the other 90% left on it. It's a pretty pernicious adhesive that doesn't rub off easily or cleanly with thumb or eraser. I have some Goo Gone which I'm pretty sure would get it off, but I don't want to use it so close to the screen and I'm not entirely sure it won't react with the plastic in any case. Any suggestions besides an hour or so of thumb rubbing?

I wouldn't worry too much about Goo Gone attacking the plastic. It's a citrus oil based chemical, not an organic solvent. Test in an inconspicuous location on the camera body first, of course, but I'm pretty sure you will cause no damage. I use it all the time on similar messes. You do need to clean up the oily residue afterwards with an ordinary detergent and water.
