ADDING space to a timeline? Moving clips foward?

I'm editing my feature, but I need more room at certain places in the timeline to rearrange some clips and I want to add more blank space in the middle, effectively moving everything past a certain point forward without having to manually select everything. Is there a way to do this? I guess almost the opposite of close gap.

generate black or transparent video the length you want and do an insert edit where you want the space...then you can delete the blank

You can select forward on all tracks at once; key TT for that variant of the track tool, or T & shift-click. Then drag your clips to the right. If you want to keep them apart, add some slug - right-click between clicks and select 'Fill with slug'.

If you want to leave a music track (say) attached to the beginning of your timeline, lock the track before selecting & moving all the others.

Oh look at that. That's awesome. Thanks a lot!
