add on viewfinder

I have seen in pictures of the HVX some people have added a longer more complex viewfinder to the HVX. What is the name of this viewfinder and whats its purpose?

Well since the hvx view finder is not a true HD monitor folk have added external HD monitors to check both the focus, and get a birds eye view of what the final result will be in HD. There are a few of them out there, but the ones folk talk about the most are these:

i was talking about the eye viewfinder not the lcd

im not sure what youve seen, but the viewfinder of the hvx isnt removable. not easilly anyway

Was it an add on? As in connected via one of the outputs and attached to the camera on top of the fixed EVF...?

ill try and find you a picture. It looks like a 35mm cameras eye viewfinder its allot longer then the stock and has all kinds of adjustment stuff.

im sure that with some advanced electronic knowledge you could "geuerilla-in" just about anything youd like...
