Add markings on DSLR Lens

Hi All,

I'm planning to use the T3i + 18-135 zoom as a director's viewfinder, and since only 18, 24, etc. are labelled, I'm looking for a way to be more precise.

Is there a known solution, an accessory or even a DIY way to accurately replace or add more markings on the lens ring?
