It should be no problem., just make sure you get an edison plug rated at 20a, and know how to wire it. (not brain surgery, just make sure you do it right.)
It doesn't seem like that's cutting it too close, so long as on your shoot you are 1000000% sure there is nothing on the entire circuit (not just that outlet) except the 2k. The 2k (2000 watts) draws just over 18 amps (W=A*V, therefore 2000watts/110volts=18amps) leaving roughly a 10% buffer towards full capactiy. A much easier way to caculate this obviously is just to use the voltage as 100, and than when you hit 20 amps in your calculations, you will have automatically left a 10% buffer. Above all else though, be careful when using electricity. It would really suck to get shocked to death I would think.
Peace,
Found this at B&H. Two problems I see with it are will it works "backwards" and of course, it's only 15A, so this particular one wouldn't work, but Rosco may make a high amperage one that just isn't sold at B&H. Hope this givees you somewhere to start from.
EDIT: Found this: http://www.theaterlighting.net/adapters.html
Oughta do the trick so long as you get the 20A one.
End EDIT
Peace,
