adapting bayonet wide angle lenses

Is it possible to adapt one of the bayonet style wide angle lenses to the HMC40?

I'm specifically thinking of the bayonet wide angle Panasonic made for the DVX100.

It would be very cool if you could just rotate out the HMC40 lens hood, and twist in an adapted bayonet.

Also there are the Sony bayonet wide angles.

Probably no one's tried. If you know anything share the info.

Meanwhile, I have an old Canon 58mm .7x screw in with just adequate lens surfaces I'm going to use with a step up ring. I'll share my thoughts when I've got it working.

You may find that the lenses for the DVX100, while big enough to be adapted to the HMC40, are not adequate optical quality for an HD camera. If your wide angle DVX100 lenses are the same as the Century one I have on my desk here, you'll likely see a lot more chromatic aberrations, and a noticeable loss of sharpness at the edges of the frame. Not recommended!
