GH3 Adapters Make non native lenses longer?

Quick question, I currently own Slr Magic lenses (25,35) which are great, but I am thinking of going back to Rokinon Lenses as they are more universal and can be used with the metabones adapter.

I owned a 24mm Rokinon and before I sold it , I would say it was an excellent lens. I am thinking of buying it again and selling my Slr Magic 25mm. I can use the Rokinon 24mm with Canon Ef cameras and MFT. Also with the metabones adapter I can have two lenses in one.

My question is this, when using a Canon ef adapter to MFT does this make the lens longer than if I were using a regular 24mm for MFt mount?

Thanks

How is that? Isn't an adapter physically moving the lens further from the sensor, thus making the circle of confusion larger(not sure if this is the right term)?

Nope. The Micro 4/3 body is very thin compared to a Canon or Nikon DSLR camera, so the adapter simply makes up for the m4/3 thin body size.

The adapter positions the lens where it needs to be. Lenses are designed to focus on a film plane (or sensor) at a certain distance. The adapter physically spaces the lens to that distance. As TheDingo said, an m4/3 is a very thin camera, so the adapter for an EF lens would need to space the lens further away (about 44mm from the sensor) in order for it to focus properly. That has zero effect on its magnification or field of view.

Thank you Barry, this was a question I always had and finally answered.
