adapt chrosziel sls 4x4 sunshade to 15mm rails for GH camera?

hi all,
picked up an older chrosziel sunshade seems to be called SLS 4x4 has a couple of the 401-02 4x4 filters.
would like to use this with a GH camera on 15mm rails.

contacted schnieder optics and they kindly informed me:
Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, this sunshade does not have either mounting holes, nor mounting studs to accept a center bracket. If you are handy, you may be able to disassemble it, drill and countersink some holes and then order our 420-02 center bracket. However placement of the holes is pretty critical, so unless you have means to do a precision job, it's probably not a good option.

If rod mount is important, you may at to consider selling this one and purchase a rod mount version
Let me know if I may of further assistance.

checking in with the dvxuser's to see if anyone has successfully drilled this for mounting on rails or knows a place that could do this in nyc.

here's a snapshot of the unit.

Anything is possible if you have enough time, money or knack ..... prolly best to sell that one and use that amount and add the money you would spend to get it modified and the parts like the rod clamps etc, then simply buy one that already does the job you want .... or leave it be and simply clamp it to the lens like it was designed to do. The cost of modifying it by a pro or semi pro will be more than you would expect and never be quite right.

I managed to knock this cradle up for a medium format 'box I had

Great advantage is it is the perfect height for my camera - being custom

you want to buy a rail clamp and make the cradle - my rail clamp is machined and left over from another project

I used 1X1 L ali extrusion and 1*1/8 ali strip, the L helps navigate the 90 turn from the rail clamp to the upright

Tools..drill angle grinder, file , sandpaper
