Adam Wilt on the FS700

Confirms what I always saw at those SSM clips. 120 and 240 fps are not Full Res! But at least the 1-60 fps look really really 1080!

14 stops!? Not sure if he is right or how he measured that - I saw about 12ish usable stops.
But there seem to be different 700s with different firmware out there.
So who knows.

Yeah it is interesting that he just throws that out there without any explanation in his writeup, but I believe he is referring to this:
Untitled-1.jpg

Which is mentioned in his more in-depth presentation on the FS700 you can watch here: http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/video/channels-nxcam_camcorders/video-Cine_Gear_2012

He mentions that you can nearly see a 15th stop.

Looks familiar :)

I'd be interested to see what kind of noise is in those shadows, but overall it looks quite promising. Just put in my preorder for an FS700, looks like I'm definitely selling my FS100 and may be selling my Scarlet...

A shame it only has about the same (if not less) horizontal resolution as the FS100.
A 4 k capable camcorder that can´t do 1080p...

Has this been confirmed. Here is all I could find on the subject:

Q: The FS100 isn't quite a full 1080 lines of resolution, but with the new 4K downres have you noticed the FS700 is closer to that or a full 1080?

Kanta: for the resolution, FS700E could have the better resolution than FS100 theortically but I cannnot be sure because it was still prototype.

Gotcha. I didn't watch the whole thing. That is surprising and I'm not sure why people aren't talking about that more. I think the Mark 3 is like 700 lines. Will the Black Magic Cam be true 1080?

I´m referring to the video above my post.
The Adam Wilt says 800 horizontally.

That was in Superslomo, where the debayer algorithm is different.
If you look at my test shots of the Euro notes, you can clearly see how much more resolution and detail the 700 spits out.

Frank, he specifically stated 800 lines at 24 fps. Your pictures really show better resolution of the Fs700 (Der Euro, Gott hab ihn seelig) but could that be due to better vertical resolution? Wilt said the 700 had about 1080 lines of vertical res.
Were the detail settings of the cameras the same in your testshots?

Looks pretty clearly like 11 usable stops (perhaps a tad more) before the detail starts breaking up, which is what most people who've tested the camera appear to concur with.
