Well I'll stick up for the Sandman since he seems to be getting bashed a lot here. Sandler is maybe the most consistent box office performer over the last 10 years. The very movies that you guys are trashing make enormous amounts of money at the box office (i.e. LOTS of people go see them) His humor may not connect with critics or independent filmmakers but, what does it matter? He is a huge success and, from all indications, a good guy.
 
I don't have a problem with any of his flicks. Grown Ups was the worst of the bunch. Sandler flicks are date movies. I don't think he's looking to do anything more than that. Seems like a good guy. Comedies are the most difficult to write, especially when you're trying to stick to a PG-13 rating. I give him credit.
