Here's a video I directed and shot. My place of work creates an annual Christmas video. This year, the Sony FS5 arrived the day of our shoot...so 95% of it is shot on the FS5. A few shots are on the FS700, and a few are on the DJI OSMO and Inspire.
For the FS5, I recorded in 1080p to an Atomos Samurai Blade. The Picture Profile is Cine 3 with a few tweaks to black level, etc. I graded it in Premiere Pro with Lumetri and Filmconvert (Fuji ET stock).
Lenses used were the Sony 18-105mm, and Rokinon 35mm and 85mm primes. Shot mostly at 1000 ISO or 1600 ISO. The shots of the drone arriving were shot at 3200 ISO and look a little noisy. I need to get more experience shooting low light/night footage with the camera to see which settings work best. Enjoy!

Make sure to watch this in 1080p on Vimeo. The embed is SD only.

I have to admit that was quite entertaining :)

However wow is the FS5 a noisy mess. I know... I own one. I am (shocked) it's so bad given the ISO you shot at.

When I graded the project with Filmconvert, I added film grain, and that may be part of what you are seeing. The grain looks great on the uncompressed master, but not so good after being squashed on Vimeo. I don't think my added grain gives a fair perception of the FS5's noise characteristics. I do feel it is less noisy than the FS700, which I used previously.

The Cinegammas and S-Log profiles on the camera do indeed elevate the noise, and one is always finding the balance between increased dynamic range and noisy shadows.
I may do something very uncool and unpopular and shoot much of my stuff using the STANDARD gamma curve. Especially in controlled lighting situations like interviews. This should make the images much less noisy.
