Achieving The Slow Motion Music Video Sync

Hey guys...

Just wanted to verify something. I will be shooting a music video that I would like to achieve the slow motion singing effect while still syncing up with the song. I assume that you speed the song up by whatever percentage you plan to slow down the footage and have the artist sync to a playback of the sped up track. Is this how it's done or am I missing something crucial?

Thanks for your help in advance

I can vouch for these. I shot my green screen video at 12 fps and used the conversion formula to modify my playback audio. I even placed a 3 count beep and visual sync at the top as cue and to ensure the right start point. (I physically placed my laptop in the left bottom corner of the frame, which was playing back the audio. The screen had the numbers 3, 2 1 in sync with the three beeps. When Zero hit the whole screen turned green, allowing it to easily be keyed out).

Enjoy!
