Achieving Streaks and Strobing In-Camera

Ok guys, I could use your help with this. I'm shooting a film in a few weeks that requires some pretty psychadelic visuals, and I would like to know how to:

1. Get long streaks via long exposure settings.

2. Strobing ala Dropping Frames in-camera. If not in-camera, how else would this be accomplished? Is it a plug-in that can be used? Would you shoot in a lower framerate like 12 fps and bump up the duration of each frame to get it up to 24fps?

Thanks in advance.

Generally streaking and strobing are due to motion blur, which is created or eliminated using shutter speeds. The slower shutter speed you use, the more the action will streak. The faster the shutter, the less motion blur.

I'm sure someone else (more knowledgeable) can tell you more about it, but I figure this might help you until someone else comes to the rescue.

Try 720/24pN in FILM CAM mode, frame rate at 12fps, syncro scan shutter set to 350.0d. Then use the "shutter" and "speed sel" buttons to make sure that 350.0d is selected. Try the look. If you like it, but wish there was "more", use the frame rate hack to put your camera in 6fps, or 3fps, or 2fps or whatever you need.

I did something where I shot at 12 fps at 350d then just doubled the frames in post to get the strobbing affect. Looked pretty bizarre.
