FS7: ACES and LUTs

Ok, so I wanted to grasp the whole concept of ACES workflow and started playing with it in Resolve.
I understand the basics of IDT's and ODT's, I've set Slog3 as an IDT and rec 709 (d60sim.) as an ODT. But cannot understand how correctly apply LUT's for specific gamma in this workflow. I'm not talking about lut's generated by myself but for example VisionColor Impulz lut's or any other created for non Aces workflows.
Thanks for help!

From what I have found in Resolve at least pretty much all the look luts out there will not work properly. My best reasoning for this is that they were designed to work on Rec709 gamma and gamut while aces has a linear gamma and a much wider gamut. Film convert seems to work fine but unless there is something I am missing luts won't work using ACES in Resolve.

Unfortunately those are my findings too. ACES transform any footage into 26-30 stops (I've got varying info from different source) working space. I've tried to use VisionColor Impulz luts but what I get is heavily clipped image, on waveform it shows usage of only maybe half (or less) IRE. Those lut's were designed for (for example) Slog3 that is 16 stops thus clipping. I've tried to use RedLog lut's and get slightly less clipping. What we need are LUT's designed specifically for ACES or a way to transform lut's from Slog3 to ACES.

Another option to experiment with, is applying Rec709 versions of ImpulZ/Filmconvert onto Sony footage with the appropriate IDT/ODT.

From memory, there are transform options for both emulations, that use a clean Rec709 image as a starting point - which ACES with the SLOG2/SLOG3 IDT comes very close to.
