accidentally did manual zoom in servo mode.

Hi, brand new to both the dvx100a camera as well as this forum. just got mine in the mail and was handling it for the first time ever today. used the manual zoom ring twice before I realized it was in servo mode. Yes, I was dumb for not realizing it but I was so anxious. I'd read the manual but forgot that. Now, I didn't do it more than 2 times and I'm not at home right now(at work and it's starting to bug me). Does this do any damage to the camera and/or zoom motor?

Thanks in advance.

Probably not. I wouldn't worry about it too much. When you get home, try zooming with the buttons, and if it works, then your good to go. It's not great for the camera, but most likely didn't damage anything.

wow, thanks for such a fast reply! I got an error message when I posted this so like a dope I made another topic basically saying the same thing.

I get a little nervous with new gear that I don't know that good and accidentally do something I shouldn't before i realize it.

Yours didn't make a clunking sound when you took it out of the box, DID IT??? There was a batch that did that and I had to send mine back!

If your power zoom still works nice and smoothly, then you probably didn't damage anything. Still, it's not a good idea and the potential does exist that the camera could be damaged.
