Accessory EVF´s .....a question ?

Obviously EVF´s inside cameras are based on a smaller clear panel , in comparison to the external accessory EVF´s now becoming available, which use small LCD TV technology paired with a magnifier. Why can´t someone make an accessory EVF similar in size to the Olympus VF-2 ? When the EVF is the same size as your camera it makes the load awkward. Or perhaps a base hotshoe from olympus that mounts and converts the signal to hdmi . The olympus is so much more elegant than the larger panel solutions and would lend itself to a traditional side mount . Just thinking outloud,
