about to place my order for a dvx100a. this is my first venture into moving pix. i'm a prof. advertising photographer for 22 years and have a full service studio complete w/ a 42' cyc Obviously I'm getting the dvx100 for it's 24p capability since I'm a film look diehard. My studio shoots 4X5, 2 1/4 and 35 as well as full digital imaging & printing.
my question is this: I want to start somewhat conservatively so I'de like your take on a start up rig. I'm thinking of putting a bogen 503 head on my existing 3058 pro photo tripod. what do think re matt boxes? how about the Cavision 4X4? What about mics? I intent to start making shorts (working on a murder mystery script currently) what other must have's would you suggest. Lighting: Arris fresnels? Lowells with boxes? (i'm used to Speedotrons w/ Chimeras, photogenic spots etc. typical studio rigs.
