Ac adapter::: Urgent

Where can I find the best AC adapter for my HPX500? I am new to this camera... does it come with?

Please help!

From what I know, there's no direct way to power the camera. You have a use a battery or a charger that mounts like a battery.

No, it does not come with one. As with most broadcast camcorders there is an industry standard 4-Pin XLR 12VDC input on the rear. Lots of companies make power supplies IDX being one of them. If you need to go the cheap route you can always find a beefy 12v DC power supply and solder a 4pin XLR on the end. A few Anton Bauer products also have DC output, or you can go with a "Charger that mounts like a battery" AKA the "Anton Bauer Tandem".

FYI, i use the 4 pin power supply that came with my marshall monitor to power my 500 all the time. works great. only 2 of the 4 pins are hooked up to anything so you could easily make your own from a standard 12v power supply.

Unless I really need the charger, of the two, I find myself usually reaching for the IDX. For the money, and the nice portable size, you can't beat it.

And just for the record, you don't need a battery on the camera to power the 500.

I bought one for $60 on eBay that works great. Look up broadcast camera power supply.

I just use the 12v out (4 pin xlr), from my IDX charger (cant charge when you do so).

As an FYI, the battery power tap on the cameras battery mount does not work without a battery in place, just in case you had any need for it.
