This is a bittersweet moment for me.

The first short film I ever shot on my DVX is finally finished.

It has been over 2 years since I shot it, and it is just now done. There is a long tumultuous road for the audio post production on the film chronicled to some extent in the documentary about the film I am finishing up as I type.

But, even though it took 2 years to get finished, it is better than ever. I was very greatful to find an incredible sound designer (or he found me I should say) and he has given the film the 5.1 treatment.

It sounds incredible now after sounding so bad for so long.

I have the Stereo mix up on my website currently, which also sounds great.

Comments are welcome of course, but enjoy the film. An abundance of work went into it.

Clicky the image.

Give it a moment, it is a streaming file, but it is rather high quality h.264.

Hopefully now I can get it shown in a few small festivals.

Enjoy.

I really enjoyed this, but why do we have to see him grabbing the cell phone/keys in the second shot? I think it would be better if it didn't have that.

That is my only major qualm with it.

I have no other qualms with it.

Qualm.

Yes it is. But we live in a time when cell phones are part of our daily lives. If it was a gun, or a knife, or a picture of Bill Cosby smiling, I might feel differently.

But as it is, it breaks up the flow and causes me to go into an epileptic fit.

^^I second the whole "Cell Phone" shot thing.

Also, wanna share some technical info?

With which DVX model did you shoot? Scene settings/apeture/35mm adapter?

Audio? Did you CC in Magic Bullet? Did you uprez for the 2:35 at all?

Please do share. Good job.

I liked this. I thought the lighting was a bit too different between a few of the outdoor shots near the beginning, but that was about it.

It also seemed a bit odd how he just turned his back to him with the gun in his pants.

Still, I liked the look and the acting was pretty good as well.

Nice work!

le sigh.

ffaf07: Shot with a DVX100a.. other settings.. who knows.. its been 2 years since I shot.. can't say..

We didn't use a 35 Adaptor.. straight naked DVX. masked to 2.35:1 in post and cropped on output.
