GH3 Abrupt iso problem (gh3)

Hi Guys, We were trucking along on a video shot the other day when suddenly I need to push the ISO •way• up to see anything. Doing that, of course, resulted in unusable footage. Daytime, in a sunny room... I did troubleshooting by changing lenses (two Panny lenses and one manual Canon). I also did two factory resets. I'd like to think I pressed something or did something obvious to cause this, but I'm running out of ideas. Please share any thoughts about this if you think of something. I'm grateful in advance. Bill

What happens if you do not mount any lens to the camera? Maybe you have to enable the option 'Shoot w/o lens' first in the menu.
Do you see a brightly lit (blurry ofcourse) image when going to live view?

Of course, make sure that the shutter speed is low, for instance 1/50s.

I took the lens off and yes, there is a blurry, fairly bright image. The shutter speed was around1/60. Thoughts?

stoneinapond, yeah, I changed shutter speeds, too.

Look the lens, is the aperture big or small while shooting. Does the aperture move when changing in manual mode? Maybe bad contacts. Does it take photos normally?

Hmm strange. At least this means that the sensor is picking up light and that there is nothing wrong with the inherent processing that follows up the intake of the light.
You have also ruled out specific lenses by trying multiple lenses. Then it must have something to do with the connection between the lens and the camera...

Thought about it for a couple of minutes but I can't figure out what it can be actually... Contact Panasonic / your dealer and ask about this situation. I'm really curious what it turns out to be though!

If you have any manual lens, try that one and see if it has the same problem. I'm guessing you've checked to be sure you're on the right mode, and have also tested in manual modes to see if you have the same problem. Have you cleaned the contacts on the camera mount to make sure that the contact that sends the aperture control signal isn't dirty and not making a connection? Is constant preview on or off?

Guys, both electronic and mechanical lenses are showing the same issue. I don't think it's the lens. A settings reset is not working either. Can you still do still photos? Might have to send the camera in at this rate.

Folks, Thanks for your input. Your replies confirmed that my troubleshooting was solid. The results are the same, still photos or video. I contacted Panasonic but never heard back, so I think I'll start by taking to a local service center. Sigh. Thanks very much to all who took the time to suggest solutions. Bill
