About to throw my HPX170 out the window....

Not sure whats going on here. I have used the HVX200 before and loved it. No issues.

I recently bought the HPX170. I have two new P2 cards (e series). I read the threads about new firmware... stuffit, loading... blah blah.

Did all that that.... maybe not correctly or maybe I just don't get it. Hopefully someone can help explain to me....

Filming in super slow. Lets say 60fps. Does the HPX NOT show/review the clip back in 60fps? HVX did and I assume the HPX would.... maybe I am wrong.

When I used the HVX it always showed the clip review in slow mo. I figured it was settings. Figured it was firmware... losing my mind.

Please help. Thanks

Do you record in 24pn mode with a framerate of 60? (I don't have the hpx170 so I don't know its menus.)

Never had that issue, and have shot lots of 60fps footage when recording in 720p24pn. It always played back fine in camera (ie: played back in slow motion if over-cranking). Just did it last night to show something to a client after a quick shot. It is exactly the same as the HVX.

What are your recording settings?

I'm sure it's a settings issue! Tell us what your recording mode is, what your framerate is, whether you're in film cam or video cam mode, etc…

Hopefully you've resolved this settings issue already.
If you're still planning to chuck it out a window, please PM me with the location of your window and the approximate time you'll be tossing it.

yea no $#@ man because I sold mine to get the AF100 and REALLY wish I coulda kept it...even considered buying it again after a few jobs. Never had that issue. Sounds like a problem, I can't even imagine what kind of user error it could be that would cause footage not to play back on that cam.

Or hold the joystick in for about 3sec over the specific clip to change the playback in vtr mode.

You should always shoot 24pN unless 1) you really need to record audio during variable frame rates or 2) you need to stream the video out through firewire. Any other time, shoot 24pN.
