about to put avid into my microwave

Hiya

I'm getting slightly frusterated with avid. I'm having some problems capturing footage from my dvx100b onto my avid xpress pro (newest version). My main problem is that when i press the capture button a note comes up and states that "You may not capture audio and video together unless the audio sample clock is pulled down." When I press the "pulldown" button a message comes that says "pulldown not supported."

So what's the deal? Is this an easy fix? How can I capture audio and video together on avid?

If I can't figure it out i might just put the software in the microwave, set it for 30 minutes and then take a walk to cool down.

What type of Project did you create in Avid? You should create a 23.976 project to capture DVX footage. It sounds like you created a 24p project.

Also, in your 23.976 project, before capturing footage, go to the settings tab and the "Film and 24p" settings and make sure that it's setup to remove Normal or Advanced pulldown (depending on what you shot with on the DVX).

This is all assuming that you want to edit in a 24 fps environment. If you don't , then disregard the above suggestions.

This worked!! Thanks man.

But it keeps saying "operation aborted due to discontinuity in timecode" Any idea why this keeps happening?

Are there timecode breaks on your tape? When recording did you stop, rewind look at footage, fastforward to a blank spot on the tape? Anything like that?

That could be the cause of it. To get past it look in the settings tab under "Capture" I think and see if you can find an option called "Capture across timecode breaks." Enable that and see if that fixes it. A more dramatic way to get around it is to capture without timecode, but as timecode is usually very important, that isn't the best way.
