I'm about to buy a USED DVX100B. What's the worst thing someone could do, damage wise, and not make it no noticable?
I need to know because the I'm about to buy it from my friend's cousin VERY cheap.. its only $200 bucks!! (seems kinda low price, something must be wrong with it) what do U think?

Wouldn't go for it.

$200 is incredibly cheap. It depends how he is selling it. Do you know his cousin? Did he say, "You know, I don't really need it anymore and I never use it I'll do you a favor and give it to you for only $200."

Or did your friend just inform you that his cousin was selling his DVX and you treated him like a normal seller.

$200 seems incredibly low and I wouldn't buy for $200 unless it was my friend who was doing me a favor.

$200? Are you sure maybe it's not $2000? Either way buy it. If someone offered me a DVX100b for $200 I'd buy it. If he said I just stole it for some guys car I would offer to buy it, tell him to come over later and have the cops waiting.

But maybe he is a spoiled kid, on drugs or something. But for $200 I'd take it off his hands,,,,if it works.

Even if it was hot, you could get more than $200 unless this guy is really, really stupid.

Ask him if it is stolen. it might belong to a few guys around here who had camera's stolen.

You can probably resell it for parts for more than $200.00 on eBay - no problem.

Either it's really BROKEN or it's really STOLEN.

Fixing it is probably not an option if it's REALLY broken. I am guessing that there are many repairs for the DVX100 which meet or exceed the price of a new unit.

If you're lucky, it's just BROKEN, and you can sell it as such on eBay for like $400-$500. You will make a profit.

If it's stolen, it's bad Karma.

Can you try it out? Go and buy a blank tape and ask to run off a few secs of clips.

buy now ask questions later... This camera is too good to pass up even with something wrong. For that price you could probably get anything that's wrong with it repaired and still be under the original MSRP. Go for the gold bro.
