? about camera settings....Scene File Dial...

I am still a little confused about something. I have F2-F5 on my camera set up with custom settings that I put in. If I wanted to customize the settings in F6 (the ADVANCED mode) will that terminate the "advanced mode" since I will be changing some things around? Or, do I simply shoot with the factory settings in F6 no matter if I am outside or inside, using lights or using none?

For example I have my camera set up with special settings for shooting outside at night in my F4 location. If I wanted those same settings on F6 will that take it out of advanced mode and put it in regular 24p? I also know that I can put the advanced settings anywhere F1-F6. What I am asking is if I alter the stock F6 settings will that mess it up from being a true 24p Advanced setting?

I hope this doesn't sound confusing. I just want to shoot advanced from now on but use my own settings if that makes sense.

Re: ? about camera settings....Scene File Dial...

F6(F5...etc) settng wll be "permenetly" alter only f you desde to save as custom settng they can be reset to factory default by pressng small tiny button that call reset  Pnanasnc dos not recomend to reset offten. Better soluton to wrte orgnal settings and if you need restore them back that way.
Please correct me if i am wrong. Well i am sure i will be corrected even i don't ask for that :)

Re: ? about camera settings....Scene File Dial...

I have a 100A, and on the scene file menu, there is a setting that will resore the factory settins for just that scene file, without resetting the entire camera. I don't know if that's in the 100, but sure would think so.

Re: ? about camera settings....Scene File Dial...

You can combine any settings you like. 24P or 24PA can be chosen (as can 30P and 60i) along with any combination of settings. The only mutually-exclusive setting that I can think of is that you can't have 60i and thin-line detail at the same time.

Re: ? about camera settings....Scene File Dial...

ok Barry, so basically your saying that if I rotate to F6 (or where ever I have my 24pAdvanced located on the dial) then go into the settings and change some of the numbers around which will make it a custom set up different from the factory settings and then save the settings and STILL be in Advanced mode? Are you following what I am asking because it is sort of confusing to me!

You know what....I think I just answered my question as I am sitting here looking at my camera/menu/settings!

It looks like I can go in and and make my adjustments then under Progressive, I can then select whether or not I want to make those settings be 24p Advanced. Now can I have 2 locations on the scene dial to shoot Advanced Mode?

Nevermind on that last question! I checked that out too and it worked! So I am in good shape now...Thanks anyway! :)

Re: ? about camera settings....Scene File Dial...

..the scene files are just pre designed setups using specific options available. you can set any scene file to use any options you want . the 24p recording methods are just options . it just so hapopens that f6 scene file is set up for 24pa recording from the factory.. you can change your f1 scenef ile to the same thing if you like, or tweak it to differnt settings, or setthem all up as 24p with different settings foir different uses.. they are just stored presets. you cant erase oe write over the actual options(like 24pa method of recording, or skin detail on..ect.) .

Alright, been looking around for quite some time...

Question: How does one actually go about changing one of these scene file settings??
