ABC's V

Call me old fashioned, but I really wanted some lasers... I'll give it some more time, but there was no suspense at all to some major plot points.

I missed the original "V" because, as someone who grew up on a farm, I had chores to do and they always seemed to need to be done during primetime. :) I can't decide if I don't care about this new version because I never saw the original, or because I don't trust a major network to do a decent sci-fi show without canceling it three episodes in, or because I have a sneaking suspicion that they'll cancel it three episodes in whether it's decent or not...

But David's avatar reminds me that I'm really overdue to watch my "Crusade" DVD's... :D

Its a mini-series like the original. They are doing a few episodes then breaking for a while then showing the rest. I believe it's 3 episodes then the break.

I enjoyed it. Special effects were better then GI Joe at least And anna is a bombshell. I do think they revealed way too much in the first episode as well. But since its only an 8 or so episode run at most I can forgive it.

Flash forward is better.

Pilot was horribly rushed. I could care less about the characters. FX are really good but lack of any real direction is sad. It's like they're trying to be the first one but just can't quite nail it.

You could have remade the original '83 series and it would have held up much better than this dreck.

Okay, it's a train wreck and I can't look away.

I had fond memories of the original until I watched it recently on Syfy and was reminded how cheesy and 80s it really was. Then I thought, hey, the original was SOOOOOOO cheesy, maybe this is a chance to make it right. Instead, it's still cheesy and 00s.

Still, I find myself watching it...:undecided

The second episode seemed like it had a lot that should have been in the first episode.

I hear it's going into hiatus after the fourth episode to be reworked and return in the spring. Let's hope "reworked" means "make it good."

The original had a lot working against it -- FX, acting, etc. -- but at least the writing was pretty good for the time.

It's funny because I read online a few places that they were only going to show the first 4 episodes, then break till around March. Implying that they had filmed more episodes, but weren't playing them till spring.

Tuesday they were interviewing the blonde actress (not sure her name) that plays the visitor on Attack of the Show. She said that they had only shot the 4 episodes and would probably know the next day, if and when they would be filming more episodes.

this show is going to get pulled. there is no suspense and no nazi dissing red uniforms. or is this the V of the 9/11 age? they casted some good lizard feature actors though

well this doesn't really belong here but is anybody else watching "alice" on syfy? anyone know what it was shot on?

I'm SO disappointed in V. Nothing happend the over the course of the entire series that couldn't have been cut into one episode.

I hope they tighten it up when it returns next year.

That's it; I'm done. I've tried my best to stick around but after last nights episode I'm calling it a wrap.

Outside of the actress playing the V leader there is no reason to watch this show.

(sigh) I was hoping that it would be better.
