AB-UL2 On Cam Light shuts cam off

I was on a shoot today and my newly acquired AB UL2 on camera light shuts down the camera (370) every time I turn it on.
The batts are IDX Endura 10, they last forever. I have changed the menu batt settings and cannot get it to work.

With the AC cord plugged in and a batt on the back, the light and cam work fine.

Anyone have this happen?

Sounds llke the light is drawing too much current. Voltage drops when current increases. The battery must drop below the voltage threshhold that the camera will allow. Bigger Battery.....

You're not saying what wattage bulb you're using. What AC cord are you referring to? Try plugging the light directly into the battery, not into the camera.

I plug a 50w pag light into the d-tap on the battery plate and it works fine, are you trying to plug it into the hirose on the rear as that will not provide enough for a light as it is only 1.5amps.
I am using DSM 98wh v-lok batteries and have an IDX plate with a d-tap connector for my pag lights and it all seems to be Ok, I get around over hour with light and camera on at the same time.

Plugging into the D-Tap on battery plate. I tried folling the cam in the menu setings and changing the batt type or the Low warning level. I don't get it, this batt should run the AB UL2 light.

Yup there should be no problems running that light and as said I run a 50w tungsten pag light all the time with my set-up. I am using battery type B setting if that is of any help and my DSM batteries are identical to your IDX in spec.

Thanks Gary, I have selected the Endura10 battery. Just changed it to the Type B and it still shut down the cam when I turned on the light, So weird.
I had this light for years with another cam and sold it. Just bought this one on Ebay. Gonna try another lamp.

Got it FIXED!

The slots where the lamp posts go in are a little beat up and the bulb was not seated properly. This light may have had a hard life before it got to me. But it came with the AB Softbox on it, which I love!

Great to hear you got the problem solved, its always something simple when these little things happen.

PAG lights all round for me and I have two older ML lights and two of the new ones with HMI options, I also have PAG belts and being an old school film guy LED's just don't do it for me!
