:) honestly i hope that sony starts to give some firmware updates based on user feedback, even if they have forgotten about the 1... it'll be good for owners and bode well for future cameras.
 
I'm from America, do I need this update? I just got the camera and havent tested it out yet for the bug.

They added uncompressed RAW to the A7II and bumped the PADF capabilities to improve AF functionality with adapted lenses.

So there's a smidge of hope...

i think you're right. the problem i believe is adding more features/fixes to the 's' line in general will (as they might see it) begin to erode distinctions between the 's' line and the 'fs' bodies. obviously you get a lot more features with the 'fs' cameras, so as a consumer i don't see an issue with adding things like higher bit rate recording, or additional slogs... but they might see it as encroaching on sales.
 
Sony says they want to update the cameras every six months. I doubt they have time for firmware feature updates with this aggressive release schedule..

If they're not adding features then why are the updating the firmware every 6 months, surely their QA is better than that to be releasing bug fixes!
