A7sII and Sony 18-105 f/4 G lens?

This lens has crazy pincushion distortion at 105mm. Sony bodies that support this lens will auto-correct on the fly in jpeg mode (stills) and when recording video.

"7.2% pincushion distortion at 105mm"
You can see it in the second photo under "Sample Photos".

Cameras like the FS100 and FS700 didn't have the built-in firmware to auto-correct for this. I am guessing the A7SII will? Hopefully this auto-correct doesn't add any cons to the system such as adding lag to the hdmi-out or adding more rolling shutter...etc.

One guaranteed con is the power zoom. The zoom is 100% electronic controlled. So if you are at 70mm and you turn the camera [OFF] and then [ON] again it resets to 18mm.

On a side note I think this was the first ever E-Mount lens? I put a question mark there because I am not 100% sure.

Dan Chung talks about using the 18-105 in his review of the A7RII. He talks about having challenges hitting his focus points with manual focus:

This drive me positively nuts because to preserve battery, I turn off the camera between takes. I have a love/hate thing with PZ lenses.
