A7s stops of latitude in different pp

im lazy and I'm sure people have done tests.

what are the usable stops of latitude in the different PP's of the A7s.

PP7 they say is 14.1 but I'm guessing its more like 13 or less of usable.

my main interest in this is to see the difference between PP off vs PP6.

I measured 10.7 stops of usable DR (with a relatively strict definition of "usable") using slog2, and about a stop less in cine4.
The slog2 numbers and a description of the test are here.
Comparing these numbers with those coming from any other test (including the very similar one I ran last year) will most likely be misleading. Take it as "between 2 and 3 stops better than the usable DR of a regular DSLR shooting H.264".

I think its more like 1-1.5 stops better then your average DSLR. It's almost humorous, before the a7s was released if you looked at retail listings they all had "15 stops" in their headline features yet now if you look, its been removed from pretty much every listing.

It's about 1 stop of absolute DR (if there's a signal, it counts), but nearly 3 if you only consider useful the shadows that still show fine detail. The XAVC-S codec is not perfect, but it's a great improvement over your run-of-the-mill H.264.

edit: the DR results from my 2014 camera shootout will be up soon; a7s vs GH4 vs blackmagic vs 5D3+RAW vs 5N
