Got the sony A7s while back in Hong Kong for vacation, full user experience and review coming soon, be sure to let me know what you would like to know about the camera so i can put it in the review. I was fortunate enough to listen and talk to den lennie about the sony a7s, which has helped me greatly in understanding the camera.

This camera has amazing low light as claimed, some of the shots in this video were pushed to 64000 iso and still produced a usable image. Say goodbye to the mushy canon dslr footage, the 1080 xacvs footage is detailed and has a good amount of wiggle room in post.
Some stills from the film

Uploading some of the footage right now, will have links for you guys to play around soon.
Will try my best to answer any questions about the cam

I haven't had time to review all of it but thank you so much for making and posting this.

This is the best A7s video so far, by far!

Thoughtful composition, editing and shot choice.
No ridiculous low light gimmicks.
Very tasteful post production: Little to no sharpening. No disgusting colour grade.

This points toward the theory that problems in other videos were down to user error.
Great work!

Very nice work. Some shots were noisy but the look and feel is very organic. I like how the highlights are very white and not discolored even when blown.

Wow! Wow! And wow. I'm low light night time shooter and if I can pull this off with this cam I will be a happy camper. I'm all over this.

Could you please tell us lenses used for this? You have a great eye and the ridding shots look nice and handled the rolling shutter good enough for me.

reem12,

Oliver replied to the same question on the youtube page:

"i used a nikon 70-200 2.8 for all the tight shots, a 17-35 for all the static wides and a 14mm for the shots with motion"

BTW - Oliver, this is fantastic.

very nice indeed

stopped down lenses at night with available light, that's what you want crazy ISOs for :)

Nice job! I'm renting an a7s this weekend. I have a feeling I'll like it much more than the gh4, even though the ergonomics are kind of meh.

Hey Oliver, awesome job. Where in HK did you buy it? Did you get a discount from the official list price? I'm planning to pick one up soon when I'm back. Thanks.

Thank you so much for the nice comments guys, I really appreciate, due to all the positive respond I'll probably include an extra section in the review talking about the choice between the gh4 and a7s based on your own productions.
had a hiccup trying to upload the footage onto google drive but they will be up really soon.

OK, this is the FIRST video that has me considering this camera.

Like in the comments It was mostly the nikon 70-200 2.9, 17-35 2.8 and 14mm on a ef to e-mount adapter

I have both and for everyday productions and application, neglecting clients that demand 4k, the a7s hands down is the camera to choose in this price range

i got it from one of the sony dealer, the price is indeed a bit cheaper in hong kong, but from what i heard is only around 100 units up for the people who pre-ordered
