a7s ii / a7r ii External Recorder - odyssey 7q+

UHD 24p, 25p, 30p
HD 24p, 25p, 30p, 50p, 60p
Recording in Apple ProRes (HQ/422/LT)

That's what the cameras output, depending on region, and that's what we can record.

No 120fps out. And granted I haven't had experience with the Odyssey, but the Shogun offers the same specs for a little bit less, and you get XLR inputs. If you were planning on getting a FS5 or FS7 later down the road then definitely go with the Odyssey for you can record raw (after forking up another grand), but for Prores stuff I've had good experience with the Shogun.

There are other features of the Odyssey7Q+ that make it unique and highly desirable for use with the A7S or A7SII. One such example is the 4K->HD HDMI SuperSampling option, which starts with the UHD output of the camera and yields a high quality HD signal than the camera delivers natively. The resolution is higher and the color bit depth greater. There are numerous functions of the Odyssey7Q+ that separate it from other devices; it is not simply a recorder.

Please post a guide "how to set up" please as I always get "illegal input" and if I switch to "other camera" I can record but the audio is drop.
Thanks
