A7s exposure shift after start recording

Hey fellas - I'm still getting the hang of my new A7s so please bear with me. I saw some weird behavior with the exposure today so could use some help.
I'm on Movie Mode with manual exposure using the SLog Kholi settings so everything's setup for manual exposure. I'm shooting outside and dial in my variable ND so the meter reads MM+1.7-+2.0. Clouds in the background and zebras set at 100%. No zebras displaying.
I hit Record to start the movie record. MM+2.0 starts to blink and zebras start appearing among the clouds. I have to dial the ND back down to get it to the same position, prior to record.
Anyone seen this?

I've seen something similar happen, but I was in Manual stills mode, and hit record, and then the exposure shifted significantly (I presume because the picture profile video recording was set to use kicked in).
I know you said you were in movie mode, so may not be the answer here, but just something to note.

I can't comment on Metabones having exposure issues, but it definitely has aperture issues with many lenses. I returned the Metabones an went e-mount.

This is one reason I've really taken a liking to S Log2. I have this happen in shady outdoor scenes where the exposure just changes as you move through trees and sunlight varies.

Ah, duh, you were right! I was on the M dial and assumed that was Manual Movie Mode.
