A7s and A7ii mount slightly different than other E-mounts?

After being pleasantly surprised with a Fotasy (rainbow imaging) brand FD-NEX adapter, I decided to set out to find a Nikon version as well.

But I found something interesting in the compatibility list for this item:

This is repeated on a few of their adapters for NEX cameras- it says that it will work even on full frame versions like the A7 and A7R, but the next generation A7S and A7ii (and I'd wager A7Rii, but it wasn't around when they wrote this I'd guess) have something different about the mount?

In the questions section of one of their products, Rainbow Imaging actually responds that this version won't work with the A7s because of the tighter mount, or something like that.

I have *never* heard of such a thing. Have you guys heard anything like that? I assumed E-mount = E-mount, with the only distinction being that some lenses/adapters don't cover the whole frame (FE vs E)!

The A7s introduced a sturdier mount than the A7 and A7R. I guess this carried over to the new A7mkII.
As far as it's fit, that difference should be negligible.
But maybe if their adapters are a tiny bit too large/small, it's enough to make them not fit on the A7S and A7mkII?

I have machined a lot of E-Mounts and found that while the e-mount itself is all the same, the various obstructions that are around it change. I have have to change my e-mounts several times. Not sure what might be in the way on the A7s - possibly the handgrip?

Interesting, I actually found a version that says "For A7ii/A7s" but its weird to me. I wonder if that one is more loose?

The truth is, I'm interested in this because I was impressed at the Fotasy brand FD adapter, since it was a really surprisingly nice and tight fit on the lens and body (no micro wobble at all!), so I wanted the same fit as a backup Nikon adapter as well. I'm wondering if the A7ii/S version is less tight? In which case, it may loose what I love about the FD one I have... I can't tell since the s/ii version has only 1 star on Amazon...

Yes the mount has been changed on the A7S (full metal as opposed to the A7/A7R) and further revised on the A7II (more secure frame) and some of the very cheap adapters may not fit because of the improved tolerances (For instance I have a Fotga that does not fit).
I currently use K&F Concept adapters which are quite cheap and fit perfectly. Although some of them go beyond infinity which is a bit annoying, but most cheap adapters will do that.

Well, I purchased the A7ii/A7s version of that adapter above, for the sake of science. I'll see how the fit compares to my "regular" one for FD lenses.

I have both an A7R and an A7S and all of my adapters (MC/MD, FD, M42, Oly, C/Y) are a much tighter fit on the a7S. If some adapters have a tight fit on the A7R already, they may not fit the A7S.
