A7RII on 3 Axis Gimbal - IS On or Off?

Hey folks,

Anyone done tests as to whether or not 5 Axis Stabilzation on a gimbal like the Ronin offers any benefit? I imagine battery life would be better with it turned off, so i'm really considering just turning it off completely while on the Ronin. Haven't been able to dig up much about it, so thought i'd ask. Thanks.
 
The difference in battery life is minimal with IBIS off, the LCD and EVF eat a lot more power. As mentioned footage is smoother, I just got the Beholder DS1, I'll be running IBIS, along with stabilized lenses.
