Did an overlay of the A7RII's AF pts (phase + contrast) to an illustration of APS-C vs FF sensor illustration and it appears that the A7RII has about 90% coverage for phase detect AF pts in APS-C crop mode!!! And the contrast detection pts appear to cover the entire crop mode area!!!!
This is very exciting as we finally get pro quality video with the ability to do some nice AF tracking across the entire sensor without worrying about missing phase detect pts!

In terms of phase detect pt density, a comparison between the A7RII, A6000 and 7D Mark II would be the following:
A7RII = 15MP*90% / 399 pts = 33,834 pixels per single PDAF pt.
A6000 = 24MP*80% / 179 pts = 107,262 pixels per single PDAF pt.
7D Mark II = 20MP*80% / 16,000,000 pts = 1 pixel per single PDAF pt.
Sony still has a ways to go to match the Dual Pixel AF of Canon (on paper) but the anticipated pro quality video of the A7RII should make up for it - fingers crossed!
