I was thinking of upgrading my A7II to a A7RII (or maybe just getting an A6500) and I was wondering how good/bad is focus tracking with the latest metabones and canon lenses. Does it come close to Canon Dual Pixel AF?
I just posted a story in this section about using an a6500 for the first time on an actual job. I usually use C100s and C300s with DPAF. I was able to get good results with autofocus on the a6500 while using the 35mm 1.8 OSS, but not with the 85mm 1.4 G. I have no idea if it was me or the gear.
Using a metabones ef to e mount adapter (non speedbooster) I was not able to get autofocus to work at all with Canon glass. Again, not sure if it was me or the gear.
