a7RII 1080p 60fps Full Frame vs. S35?

Hey all,

Wondering if anyone has any comparisons of the 1080 60fps footage from the a7RII. I've got the camera, and i find the 1080 image to be slightly disappointing (noise, softness) in S35 mode. 4K looks great, but do need 60fps as well. I could swear i heard someone say that for 1080p, Full Frame actually comes out sharper and cleaner which is the opposite of 4K mode on this camera. I'd love to check myself, but i have no Full Frame lenses yet! I scoured the internet for any comparisons, but i'm coming up empty.

Another thought. Maybe recording to an external recorder would improve the 1080p 60fps image?

I'm hoping for the best because i love the camera so far. Would hate to have to try something else, because the 4K and especially the Auto Focus are so good!
 
You can check for yourself, even without FF lenses. Set the camera to FF mode, and you'll have an image with a hard vignette, but with a center circle that's perfect for checking what you want to check.

Make sure that you have the same FoV on both modes (e.g. test at 30mm on APS-C and 50mm on FF), and that your lens is not a factor (i.e. make sure it's sharp in both cases, for example by stopping it down to f/8 or so and using only the center of the image).
