A6300 waxy skin?

I had a talk with Sony engineers through a mutual friend. They are aware of the post on the Sony Community forum, as well as the videos demonstrating the problem on youtube.
Their official response was that this would be address in the A6300. And it seems to have been, the camera does not suffer from this problem that I know of.

I was really hoping that would mean the A6000 and A5100 would have it fixed since update v3.x was announced a matter of weeks after this exchange. But sadly, I sort of already knew they wouldn't. The response read between the lines was that they aren't fixing it on those, but will make sure new cameras don't have it.

Does the a6300 have the waxy skin problem from the a6000 and some other sony cameras? Whereby if face detect is on, it will soften the subject's skin?

Here's a video that demonstrates the problem https://youtu.be/E6GVm1Ke2dQ?t=67

I'm so glad I'm on this forum... I could never figured out why there were no details on the skin (I use a7s). I thought maybe it was due to the compression or used wrong settings. Now you solved the mystery! I did some more research and it seems it was fixed with firmware upgrade (v1.1). Upgrading my firmware today... Thanks for bringing this!
